Why it works at a wedding

There is always a dead hour. The speeches are done, the room is being turned round, and nobody knows anybody at their table. This is the thing on the table card that people actually pick up. It gets two sides of a family who have never met introducing themselves, because the fastest way to win is to ask the person next to you who that is. The couple keep the link afterwards, which makes it a keepsake rather than a favour that goes in the bin.

Photos that work at a wedding

Outfits carry it. Once everyone is in morning suits and matching dresses, the mixing is properly difficult and properly funny. Full length, head to toe, one person per photo. Engagement shoots, previous weddings and holiday photos all work. Plain background helps. Adults only, please - our terms do not allow photographs of under-18s, so leave the flower girls and page boys out of this one.

Questions

When should I make it?

A week before. Build it, preview it, and publish it the day before so the link is ready.

Can guests play it without wifi?

Once they have opened it, mostly yes - it keeps working if the signal drops, which at a rural venue matters.

Can we put our own photos and colours in?

Colours, fonts, a logo or monogram, and a background image. It should look like your wedding.

What goes at the end?

Whatever you like. Most people use it for the photo-sharing album or the playlist request form.
